Felon Voting Rights Restored in Maryland
Annapolis Md. - On Thursday, felons in the state of Maryland gained the right to vote with no restrictions. Previously, felon voting rights were restored upon the completion of sentences (either parole or probation.) Now SB 340/HB 980 becoming law on March 10, felons can vote immediately upon release from incarceration.In January, the Maryland Legislature achieved the necessary 60% majority needed to override a previous veto by Governor Hogan.
